'Active cover' is how much cover is currently running on that product, right now, not a wallet balance. It rises when cover is bought or renewed, and falls when cover expires unused or a claim gets paid. The number comes from Nexus Mutual's own NXM-denominated capacity accounting and is converted to USD only for display, so it can shift a little even without a purchase.
